Large (synchronous) generators of sizes that are used in power plants which are usually connected to the transmission grid or distribution system have varying power factor rating depending on the requirement of the grid operator or grid code. But typical values are 80%, (mostly) 85%, and 90% lagging. The leading power factor rating is usually 90%.
