Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant in the boundary of Brazil and Paraguay has been running, more or less, as a base load plant. Thus, unlike other hydro plants with intermittent and limited supply of water, Itaipu has a higher capacity of around 70% or to be exact, 77% and 74% in 2008 and 2007, respectively.
