DAEWOO SHIPBUILDING & MARINE ENGINEERING Co. Ltd (DSME), a leading company in shipbuilding, plant, and offshore construction, is seeking young & enthusiastic Engineer for ongoing projects.
1. Job Location
You will be working in Okpo shipyard of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. on Geoje Island off the southern coast of Korea. Okpo has a population of approximately 200,000 people. Over the years it has developed into a small yet cosmopolitan town due to a large expatriate community.
2. Working conditions
It is family status job with 5 days a week normal working, Korean National Holidays (around 20days per year) and 12 working days paid leaves for annual vacation.
Free two bed room fully furnished accommodation with fully equipped kitchen, beds, sofa, electrical and electronics appliances etc is provided on non-sharing basis by Company according to Company standard.
Ticket for mobilization and demobilization plus one annual round trip ticket to native country’s international airport is provided by Company free of cost to employee including spouse and maximum two dependent children .
Medical insurance, National Pension and severance allowance shall be provided by Company as per Korean National Law.
Salary is negotiable competitively matching to experience.
Initial Term of contract is 2 years extendable on mutual agreement.

1. Project Management
The Experience: Either of these is must Project Engineering Co-ordination, Proposal Estimation/Co-Ordination, and Contract Management of mega EPC project of Oil and Gas sector. Experience of Offshore projects like Drillship, Drill Rig or FPSO shall be considered favorably.
The Role: The Job Responsibilities include Preparing Detailed Plan for Execution, Resource Planning & Allocation of Proper Resources, Preparing Budget & Monitoring of Cost, Co-ordination of Engineering Activities with Engineering Sub-contractor/Client/Consultant and with other Departments within the company, Formalizing Action Plan in consultation with Client/Consultant to contain slippages, Resolving Contractual Issues like Extra Claims, Time Extension in Delivery Schedules etc. and Feed-back to Management on various aspects of job including Progress, Profitability, Relations with Client/Consultant etc.
2. Commissioning & Completion
The Experience: Requirement is in the discipline of process and mechanical having hands on experience of preparing commissioning procedures for package items, finalization of plan of vendor mobilization and site coordination with vendors commissioning supervisors, punch item closure in coordination with client, consultant, vendors & the various department of Company of mega EPC project of Oil and Gas sector. Experience of Offshore projects like Drillship, Drill Rig or FPSO shall be considered favorably.
The Role: Establishing the commissioning procedure in coordination with vendors, client, engineering consultant, inspection agencies like classification and rules & regulation. Finalization of commissioning and completion plans in Coordination with client, vendors and various departments of company. Resolution of punch points in consultation with client, consultant, vendors, class agency and statutory inspection authorities. Feed back to Management on lessons learned.
