Are there Online Engineering Jobs at oDesk?
oDesk (odesk.com) provides a good alternative or additional source of income to everyone by being hired to work with some online jobs offered by employers or individuals at oDesk (job providers and job seekers both meet at oDesk). Being hired and receiving payments are also easy and automated. There are some individuals I know who find success at oDesk and earn a lucrative income for their living.
Jobs offered in oDesk are mostly computer-based, making it appropriate for I.T. and computer savvies. That makes it unfortunate, however, for non-computer and non-IT engineering online job seekers who want to find a professional job at oDesk. Below are the only job categories available at oDesk;
- Web Development
- Software Development
- Networking & Information Systems
- Writing
- Administrative Support
- Graphic Arts & Design
- Audio / Video & Multimedia
Maybe the closest engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc) job that might be offered at oDesk is a technical writer for an engineering journal; but with my more than two months membership at oDesk no one has ever offered this kind of job yet.
