I’ve been researching for a while now on how to further improve my Globe Wimax download speed.
Previously, my plan was 512kbps and I haven’t had a problem achieving that speed after doing some “tricks” that I discussed in my previous posts (http://www.jcmiras.net/surge/p307.htm and http://www.jcmiras.net/surge/p239.htm).

Globe Wimax is the 4G (4th Generation) service offered by Globe Telecom (PSE:GLO) in the Philippines.

As of today, there are only two commercially available Wimax providers in the Philippines – Globe Wimax and Liberty Telecom’s Wi-tribe. The highest speed of the available subscription plan is Wi-tribes 2 mbps. The highest of Globe wimax is 1 mbps. My subscription plan is Globe’s 512 kbps for Php 795 per month.

When I left my old apartment for a new house, I also left my good internet connectivity through Skybroadband. My subscription plan then was 1.5Mbs with a speed-on-demand of 2.02 Mbps.
