Example of an Electro-mechanical Over-Current Relay
This is a photo of an electromechanical type over-current relay. Over-current relay is used for protecting high voltage electrical equipments like motors, transformers, and transmission lines against short-circuit and overloading. An electromechanical type is an old technology of relay and is now facing-out in the market. Nowadays, most relays are solid state which is more reliable, more sensitive, and easy to configure.
