Donut Core Type Current Transformer

This donut core current transformer (CT) is installed in the neutral and ground conductor of a Wye –Delta connected, 100 MVA main step-up transformer. For this type of CT, the usual maintenance tests are;
1. CT magnetization curve tests,
2. turns ratio test, and probably
3. winding resistance and winding insulation resistance tests
