Electric Powered Buses in China

It was my first time in Jinan, China and it was also my first time to see this kind of electric powered bus. The concept and principle of these electric powered buses is quite simple but the ingenuity is amazing. It works the same way as an electric powered train but unlike train which has a fixed track; these buses can move one lane on both left and right sides – three lanes over all. The connection between the bus and the electricity source is spring loaded so that it has flexibility to move side ways and could even overtake other vehicles.

Electric powered vehicles can help reduce air pollution in the city centers but it does not necessarily reduce the overall impact to the environment since the source of the electricity could be coming from non-clean sources.
