Software Review: Mathtype 5.2 Equation Editor
Mathtype is an easy to use equation editor that is embeddable to Microsoft Word. Like Latex, Mathtype is one of the popular equation editor. It has a large collection of mathematical equation format and symbols that allows a greater flexibility in writing equations. Unlike other equation editor, equations made by Mathtype is automatically pasted to Word as an image file, thus allowing this equations to be viewable in other computer even if other computer has other version of Word or doest have Mathtype installed on it. But once installed, Mathtype can edit existing equations made from Mathtype.

-Saving equation files and printing are disabled.
-Only the toolbar’s symbol and template palettes can be used.
-MathType’s additional symbols and templates in the palettes are disabled.
-MathType’s Commands for Word are disabled.
-The Insert Symbol dialog is hidden.
-The Color menu is hidden (existing colors are still used).
-Preference files cannot be loaded or saved.
