The Three Way of Gaining Visitors to a Newly Established Website
Unlike the early ages of the internet, these days and the days that may come will become harder and harder to gain website traffic or visitors in your website, specially if It’ s just newly established and published in the internet mainly because of competition. Everyday, hundreds, or maybe thousands, of websites are being created and published. And these are all potential competitors of your website, specially if you are just relying to search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN to gain visitors. Old websites are very fortunate because aside from page rank and quality of content, search engine give a higher search engine results position (SERP) for old websites.
If you have a newly established website or just planning to publish one or more, I have here three suggestions to gain visitors or traffic to your website;
1. If you don’t have money and you don’t want to spend money to gain visitors, search engine marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) is the only way to gain visitors. In such way, you only rely your visitor referrals from search engines. It also means that you have to make your website popular to search engines to gain a high SERP by gaining links from other websites and other SEO techniques. This method is good but beware of getting tagged as a spammer because the search engines will surely remove you from their index.
2. If you want to have a stable number of visitors, you have to make your website popular not only to search engines but, most importantly, to the people in and around your community. Thus, you actually don’t need to rely on search engine referrals because your website’s popularity will surely bring you a direct hits from your visitors. Of course, to obtain popularity, you have to make a good marketing and advertising campaigns in any ways.
3. Now, if you think that making your website popular in your community and/or to search engines is tough to attain and you don’t have time to do such things, then you have to utilize some money for online marketing and advertising through contextual advertising or affiliate programs. That is, you are going to publish your website in the internet. There are a lot of such programs like Google Adsense and Yahoo Publisher Network.
The only problem with number 1 is that the faith of your website relies on the search engines. But search engines’ algorithm are changing most of the time and may drop you from SERP anytime. If you have a good plan for the future of your website, I think number 2 is the best.
